“I recently let Amanda have a plaster figure for restoration. It was finished in a patinated finish and had been badly damaged in a fall from a display shelf. The neck was completely broken and although the head was still attached to the body with a steel wire it was all out of alignment and looking very sad. Also one of the arms was broken off the body and other pieces of plaster were missing. When I collected it I was amazed with the quality of the repair and all the patinating was beautifully matched and it was impossible to detect where the damage was in the first place. I would defintely use her services again and my customer was delighted with the finished result “.

“Amanda Holyer has been restoring china and pottery for me since 1998. She is very good with Delft and Faience, especially matching the blues which are notoriously difficult to get right in artificial light. She has also had to work (equally competently) on Chinese and other porcelains where repairs are less easy to disguise because of translucency”.
Amanda, I can’t tell you how absolutely delighted we are with your restoration of our Jean Lurcat plate. It’s lain in a box under the bed, in several pieces, for two years. That gave me plenty of time to reflect on how the £1500 we’d spent on it could be thrown away in a moment’s carelessness. Now thanks to you it looks magnificent. Here she is back where she belongs. We are thrilled; you’re a magician! Thank you again.
